Coach Brett Kendall has led the Highlander Tennis program to five consecutive undefeated District Team Tennis Championships (2013-2018) and four consecutive Regional Semi-Final appearances. The Highlander girls have won five straight Spring Championships (2014 -2019) and the boys have won four straight (2015-19) following a District runner-up finish in 2014.


In Team Tennis, the Highlanders have made the Regional Tournament 13 consecutive years.  The Highlanders have also finished ranked in the 6A Top 10 the past 5 years including a number 6 finish this past 2018 season.  The past Spring season the Highlanders finished as State Runner-up in Girls doubles and finished 3rd in Boys Singles.

Kyle Jones

Coach Kyle Jones attended The University of Texas at Tyler where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics. He is entering his 15th year as a high school coach and teacher. This will be his first year at The Woodlands High School. He will be the assisting coach for the JV and Varsity tennis teams. Prior to The Woodlands High School, Coach Jones was the Head Basketball Coach at Pflugerville Connally the previous two years where he led the program to an overall record of 44-19 and helped them advance to the Regional Quarterfinals last season. Coach Jones will be teaching Algebra I and College Algebra at the Main Campus and enjoys hanging out with his three nephews and two nieces whenever possible.
