Coach Brett Kendall has led the Highlander Tennis program since 2014. He has led the Woodlands High School to eight consecutive undefeated District Team Tennis Championships (2014-2021) and seven consecutive Regional Semi-Final appearances, including 2 Regional Final Triumphs in 2020 and 2021. The Highlander girls have won six straight Spring Championships (2014 -2021) and the boys have won five straight (2015-21) following a District runner-up finish in 2014. *No District Spring TMT in 2020 - COVID.
In Team Tennis, the Highlanders have made the Regional Tournament 17 consecutive years. The Highlanders have also finished ranked in the 6A Top 10 the past 7 years including a number 4 finish this past 2021 season.
At last Spring's State tournament the Highlanders finished as bronze medalist at State in 6A Boys Doubles (Emilio Lopez/Jose Perez-Region 2 Champs) Also, the Highlanders finished 1st at Regionals in Girls Doubles(Ella Arendes/Caroline Campbell) plus Regional Runner-up in Boys Singles(Aidan Lee) and Boys Doubles(Carson Moore/Eli Sam)

Kevin McIlvain
Coach Kevin McIlvain joins the Highlanders after 16 years as the Head Coach at Seven Lakes High School. Coach McIlvain attended Midland High School and played tennis at Southwest Missouri State University. McIlvain transferred to the University of Texas at Austin and earned his Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing and his alternative certification from the University of St Thomas.
