Coach Kevin McIlvain
Coach Kevin McIlvain is the Head Coach of The Woodlands tennis team. During his time with the team, TWHS Varsity team has won the Regional Championship three years in a row and reached a program-high ranking of #3 in 2022. In 2025, Coach McIlvain led the Highlanders to their first-ever UIL Team Tennis State Championship, capping a perfect 19-0 season with a thrilling 10-9 win over Round Rock Westwood. Each spring, the team has advanced numerous individuals to the state tournament.
Prior to joining the Highlanders, Coach McIlvain spent 16 years as the Head Coach at Seven Lakes High School. He attended Midland High School and played tennis at Southwest Missouri State University before transferring to the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. He later received his alternative teaching certification from the University of St. Thomas.

Coach McIlvain is married to Brooks Anderson and is a proud father to sons Breken McIlvain and Evan Anderson.

Coach Erin Arnold
Coach Erin Arnold joins the Highlander tennis program after spending seven years as Assistant Coach at Oak Ridge High School, where the team won back-to-back Bi-District Championships in each of the last five years. Her coaching experience also includes Texas A&M tennis camps, NJTL summer camps, and the junior program at The Woodlands Country Club.
A native of The Woodlands, Coach Arnold graduated from McCullough High School in 1994. As a junior player she reached a top 100 national ranking in singles and a top 15 national ranking in doubles, competing at the high school, state, national, and collegiate levels. She earned a full athletic scholarship to Rice University, where she played consistently in the singles and doubles lineup. She holds a BA in Art and Art History from Rice University and a M.Ed. in Education Administration from Lamar University.
